Before You Come to the Demo…

What to bring:

-Cash money (avoid bank cards as they have your name on them)
-Paper travel card (oyster cards carry intelligence on your movements)
-Water and high-energy food (such as nuts or cereal bars etc)
-At least one face mask (to disrupt intelligence gathering of the police
and far-right)
-Change of clothes (to further disrupt intelligence gathering and to make
yourself less conspicuous)
-A clear head! Make sure you are well-rested, sober and NOT hungover.

What not to bring:

-ID (photographic or otherwise)
-Drugs or alcohol
-For the action itself, avoid identifiable clothing with logos, patches
and patterns. Plain black is recommended. However, identifiable clothes
may be good to change into afterwards.
-Bicycles on the main demonstration (lock them up!)
-Dogs on bits of string. Seriously.

Other things to consider:

-An ‘affinity group’. This is a group of people you know and trust. It can
be helpful to ‘buddy up’ in groups of two, but you dont have to. What is
most important is that you look out for each other, move together and
operate on a similar level tactically.
-Photography/video: avoid being photographed, don’t upload pictures of the
action on the internet or ‘tag’ yourself on facebook. You’re only making
things easier for fascists and cops.
-Smartphones: some people prefer not to take them in case of arrest
(another intelligence gathering opportunity for the cops). They can be
good for information on the day, though.
-NEVER TALK TO COPS, especially Police Liasion Officers. ‘No Comment’ always.
-If you have any physical or mental health conditions, it is important one
of your group knows what to do if you experience any difficulties.
-At the very least, pick up a ‘bust card’ on the demonstration and read
it. Make sure you call one of the solicitors on the card if you get
